Caris LeVert has Big Game in Nets Win Over the Suns

With Kyrie Irving out with a sprained right knee the Brooklyn Nets were looking for somebody to set up and help them get a win over the Suns. Caris LeVert did that by putting up 29 points, a career high for LaVert, on the way to a huge 119-97 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

The Nets started slow but began to pick it up halfway through the first quarter. They shot 7 for 7 from the free throw line in this first quarter, which was way better than they shot on saturday’s loss to the Wizards. At the end of the first quarter Caris LeVert had a chance for a buzzer beater and he converted giving them a 35-31 win at the break. Going into the second quarter, they needed to keep the momentum in their favor, which they did not. They allow Phoenix to outscore them and cut the lead to 3 points going into halftime.

Coming out of halftime the Nets were unstoppable. They were firing on all cylinders and was a crucial quarter for them to be able to get the win. At the end the Nets had extended their lead to 17 points. Through the final quarter the Nets would hold a pretty significant lead throughout the whole quarter. The Nets had huge play from players like Spencer Dinwiddie who scored 14 points and had 4 assists, as well as a big shooting presence from Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot who scored 13 points and had 3 boards.

Keys to the Nets success was their ability to hit three pointers. The hit 15/34 which amounted to 45 points as well as a percentage of 44.1%. Also, the shot 18/21 from the free throw line, this allowed them to get 18 easy points and had a percentage of 85.7. This was a big step up from their previous performances and was a key victory without star player Kyrie Irving.
