Knicks win a 139-134 OT thriller over the Cavaliers

What a night for the New York Knicks. The game was extremely high paced and frenetic all night. After an up and down first quarter the Cavs lead 37-33 in the game. At the start of the second quarter the Cavs went up on an 8-3 run to give them a 45-36 lead. The Knicks spent the remainder of the quarter battling back to take a one point lead and heading into the locker room up 63-62.

The lead changes continued throughout the third quarter in what was an amazing quarter to watch. Between the teams they had six lead changes throughout the third quarter. At the end of the quarter the Cavs had a 100-95 lead thanks to a 8-0 run. At the beginning of the fourth quarter the Cavs went on another big run to extend their lead to 10, which was the biggest of the night. The Knicks refused to go away and with a three pointer from Marcus Morris they knotted the game at 120 with three minutes to go in the contest. With the Knicks up by three with less than a minute to play, Collin Sexton drained a tree to tied the game. The Knicks went down and had an opportunity to go up with a three by Marcus Morris. It went in and out but Frank Ntilikina had a huge offensive board for the Knicks with thirteen seconds left in the game. Mike Miller immediately called time out to set up a play for his team. Mike Miller set up a play to get Morris a baseline three pointer which he missed which set the game to OT.

The teams traded buckets throughout overtime until a minute left when Knicks player Marcus Morris drained a contested three to give them a 135-134 lead. After this the Knicks played outstanding defense to force a shot clock violation. Then Marcus Morris went down the court to hit another tough three pointer to extend the lead to 138-134. A quick shot by Garland allowed the Knicks to get the rebound and kick it out to Marcus Morris. He was fouled and went down to sink a free throw before the game ended 139-134 hard fought win for the Knicks.
