The Nets have revealed that injury to star player Kyrie Irving in the 113-107 loss to the Wizards was a sprain and not a tear. Kyrie then took to instagram to speculate about the injury saying, “I appreciate everyone reaching out! I’ll be okay after last nights tweak with my knee. Honestly, what a scare, but I know God and the angels definitely looked out for me on that one! The Marathon Continues though, gotta keep the same focus and determination to get back out there when I’m Healthy! What a week of challenges, but I trust in the Divine Purpose of life!
Irving Scored 11 points shooting 5-12, including 1-5 on three pointers. Irving also added four assists and had four rebounds while playing 29 minutes in the game. He went on to say later that night after the fall, “So I just wanted to make sure sure my ACL, my MCL, and my PCL and just make sure that our medical staff did their check. And the most important thing was just my ACL, making sure it was fine. But it was just weird, weird, weird, weird fall. Just a lot of stretching and tension afterwards and just a bad fall, man.” After dropping the loss to the Wizards the Nets move to 21-27. They will be looking for playoff hope but need to pick up some wins, including monday night. Moving forward Irving has been ruled out for Mondays 7:30 p.m. game against the Phoenix Suns. This will mean the Other Nets players will need to pick it up in order to get a win over Devin Booker and the Suns.
